Pressure Switches & Transducers
A pressure switch proves that the inducer is actually moving air before the control board will allow ignition. It is a safety interlock, which is why a failed switch shows up as a furnace that cycles the inducer and then locks out rather than lighting.
We carry air-proving switches, differential switches and pressure transducers from Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Amana-Goodman and Cleveland Controls, for single- and multi-stage applications.
The setpoint is the specification that matters most. These are rated in inches of water column and are usually negative for draft-proving — for example −0.60" WC, −0.95" WC, −1.20" WC. A switch with the correct thread and the wrong setpoint will either nuisance-trip or fail to prove at all, so match the number on the old switch rather than the physical size. Also confirm the contact configuration (SPST vs SPDT, normally open or closed), the port count, and the tubing connection.
If the tag is unreadable, send us the appliance model and we will help identify the switch.
